Battery Back-Up System

AC/DC "Piggy Back"
Power System Model 5600

For sump or sewage operation

The AC/DC motors on the 5600 power assembly operate together at all times. Each is capable of driving the pump by themselves. The reason Tramco has engineered the operation this way, is to utilize the DC motor on a regular basis. Most DC units offered by other manufactures, are only used when AC power has failed, or the AC pump has failed. Not being used for long periods of time has proven time and time again, not to be a reliable source of pumping. Either the batteries have failed or the pump is frozen from non use. Tramco Pump kept this in mind during development. The use of AC and DC each time the pump is cycled, exercises the batteries on every use. After cycling, the batteries are charged back up and ready for use. This eliminates the chance of battery failure from non use. Colored running lights indicate AC and DC operation. Tramco also utilizes Heavy Duty deep cycle batteries with enough power to drive the pump's for over 6-7 hours of 100% continuous operation.

Another main feature of Tramco's AC/DC system, is that we use the existing AC Tramco pump, delivering over 100 GPM at 10' TDH while running AC or DC. When you need pumping the most, during a heavy rain storm and power is lost, you can be assured that you still have the pumping capacity to keep your basement dry.
